ThanksGiver Schweiz is run entirely by volunteers.
We’d love for you to join one of our teams — whether at a local food bank or with our dedicated team at our headquarters. Your time, energy, and skills can make a real difference and have a lasting impact on the lives of others. It’s also a fun, meaningful way to connect with a diverse group of people.
To volunteer at one of our local food banks, you must be at least 16 years old. Children under 10 are not permitted due to safety concerns. Children aged 10 and up are welcome to volunteer alongside a parent or guardian.

Volunteer Opportunities
Join one of our ThanksGiver Schweiz food bank teams in Baselland, Aargau, Bern, or Solothurn and help provide essential food to those in need while working in a friendly, hands-on environment. To see all of our locations, click here.
What You'll Do:
As a volunteer, you’ll help with:

Receiving and sorting food donations

Packing food parcels

Distributing food to clients

Loading/unloading delivery vans

Cleaning up after distribution
Important Information
Shifts are typically 3-4 hours, depending on the location. Aprons are provided. Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes you don’t mind getting messy.

Baselland
Join one of our ThanksGiver Schweiz food bank teams in Baselland and help provide essential food to those in need while working in a friendly, hands-on environment.
Aargau
Help the ThanksGiver Schweiz food bank team in Aargau to ensure necessities reach the community while working in a supportive, friendly, hands-on atmosphere.
Bern
Support ThanksGiver Schweiz's mission in Bern and be part of team that provides the community with crucial food and supplies with a lively, motivated group.
Solothurn
Support our ThanksGiver Schweiz food bank team in Solothurn and play an important role in turning excess into access for communities in need.
Driver
As a ThanksGiver Schweiz volunteer driver, you’ll help keep our food support network running smoothly. You must hold a valid Swiss Category B driver’s license and be comfortable driving a transport van.
What You’ll Do
You’ll transport food between our headquarters, partner organizations, and food bank locations. This role also involves loading and unloading the van, so please ensure you’re physically fit for the task. Your contribution will help ensure timely food delivery to those who need it most.
Photographer
ThanksGiver Schweiz is seeking passionate volunteer photographers/videographers to help us capture the impact of our food bank initiatives. Your photos and videos will showcase our community work, highlight the people we serve, and support fundraising and awareness campaigns.
Community Outreach
Be the link between ThanksGiver Schweiz and the community. Help spread the word, connect with local partners, and support those in need.
