ThanksGiver Schweiz is run entirely by volunteers.
We’d love for you to join one of our teams — whether at a local food bank or with our dedicated team at headquarters. Your time, energy, and skills can make a real difference and have a lasting impact on the lives of others. It’s also a fun, meaningful way to connect with a diverse group of people.
To volunteer at one of our local food banks, you must be at least 16 years old. Children under 10 are not permitted due to safety concerns. Children aged 10 and up are welcome to volunteer alongside a parent or guardian.

Explore these Opportunities

Food Bank
Join our ThanksGiver Schweiz food bank team and help provide essential food to those in need – while working in a friendly, hands-on environment.
What You’ll Do
As a volunteer, you’ll help with:

Receiving and sorting food donations

Packing food parcels
-
Distributing food to clients
-
Loading/unloading delivery vans
-
Cleaning up after distribution
Shifts are typically 3-4 hours, depending on the location. Aprons are provided. Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes you don’t mind getting messy.

Driver
As a ThanksGiver Schweiz volunteer driver, you’ll help keep our food support network running smoothly. You must hold a valid Swiss Category B driver’s license and be comfortable driving a transport van.
What You’ll Do
You’ll transport food between our headquarters, partner organizations, and food bank locations. This role also involves loading and unloading the van, so please ensure you’re physically fit for the task.
Your contribution will help ensure timely food delivery to those who need it most.

Food Bank Manager
Are you a natural organizer who loves working with people and making things run smoothly? For our Staufen and Muttenz locations we’re looking for a Food Bank Manager to lead the team on site during food distribution days. You’ll help make sure everything is set up, the team is ready, and our guests feel welcome and supported.
What you’ll do:

Oversee the setup, operation, and cleanup of the weekly food distribution.

Coordinate and support the volunteer team on site.

Ensure safety, hygiene, and a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

Troubleshoot issues and make quick decisions when needed.

Help ensure that the food distribution runs efficiently and respectfully.
